Khodorkovsky: The EU’s new politically correct victim
Mikhail Khodorkovsky is the new human rights darling of the EU after his "unfair convictions" for money laundering and other financial crimes. Part of the sympathy for Khodorkovsky could be the idea that NO billionaire should be sent to prison, let alone stand convicted for crimes. Also - we hear the same bunch that always stands at the ready to pounce on Russia over some ginned up "controversy" like the convictions against Khodorkovsky - as some "evidence of Russia backsliding."And - AI should know better, as millions of Americans are unfairly and unjustly convicted also, as well as suffer discrimination, including in travel and immigration, due to criminal convictions. Well - no billionaire should suffer criminal convictions like the rest of us?Now EU-Russia relations, which are growing in a positive direction - should now be set back over ONE crooked billionaire? This is where the REAL outrage lies !

Good riddens to Polish-Czech missiles!
Since the September 11, 2001 attacks on the U.S., Russia under Vladimir Putin has wanted to join the fight. Russia was in the middle of its own “war on terrorism” at the time, and Putin called the rising tide of Islamic extremist-terrorism a threat against Western civilization. In the common EU-US-Russia interest in religious inspired terrorism is also the issue of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) and their control.
